GreenFiber ANNOUNCES ACQUISITION OF BLUE SKY MANUFACTURING

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — January 11, 2006 — GreenFiber, LLC announced today the acquisition of Blue Sky Manufacturing, Inc., a cellulose insulation company located in East St. Louis, Ill. This acquisition adds manufacturing capacity and distribution reach in the Midwest for GreenFiber’s primary product line, GreenFiber™ brand insulation, allowing the company to better serve existing customers and to develop new customer business in the region.

"This acquisition supports our long-term strategic growth plans by giving us additional manufacturing and distribution capacity in the Midwest. The additional capacity will be used to grow our Midwest business with both existing and new customers and ensures our commitment to customer service," states Dennis Barrineau, president of GreenFiber.

With the acquisition of Blue Sky Manufacturing, GreenFiber now has a total of 13 manufacturing plants. Twelve of the 13 are insulation plants located in Albany, N.Y., Charlotte, N.C., Delphos, Ohio, Denver, Colo., East St. Louis, Ill., Elkwood, Va., Lithia Springs, Ga., Norfolk, Neb., Phoenix, Ariz., Sacramento, Calif., Tampa, Fla. and Waco, Texas. The thirteenth plant, a Scott’s Patch Master Plant, is located in Elkwood, Va. No additional organizational changes have been announced.

Established in 2000, GreenFiber LLC is a quality-conscious provider of GreenFiber Cocoon Insulation, fire and sound products. GreenFiber is sold through major home centers, building supply retailers and lumberyards in the US and Canada to the do-it-yourself and contractor customer. GreenFiber’s products are also sold through a national sales force to residential and commercial contractors as well as to the manufactured housing industry. The company, headquartered in Charlotte, NC, is a 50/50 joint venture of Louisiana-Pacific (NYSE:LPX) and Casella Waste Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CWST). GreenFiber has the capacity to turn what has previously been an environmentally-friendly "specialty" product into a major competitor in the building products industry.
