GreenFiber ANNOUNCES EXPANDED DISTRIBUTION IN HOUSTON AREA FOR GreenFiber Cocoon Insulation
HOUSTON, Texas – June 20, 2003 – GreenFiber, the national manufacturer and distributor of GreenFiber Cocoon Insulation, today announced a key contractor alliance with Texas-based Garland Insulating. This alliance provides increased availability of the complete GreenFiber product line to Houston area homebuilders.
GreenFiber is a high-quality, paper fiber insulation designed to improve interior thermal comfort in residential and light commercial applications, resulting in energy conservation and lower heating and cooling costs. The product’s density gives it a high R-value rating of 3.7 per inch, and when applied, fills tiny cavities and surrounds obstructions where energy often escapes, reducing air infiltration and resulting drafts. In addition to insulating walls, attics, floors, ceilings and other enclosed spaces of new construction, GreenFiber can also be used in retrofit applications.
"This alliance will allow us to better serve the rapidly growing Houston home building market," said Dan Rizzo, U.S. GreenFiber director, contractor channel. "Houston area builders have been requesting GreenFiber by name after becoming aware of the product’s thermal performance, acoustical control features, exceptional fire resistance and lower heating and cooling costs for the homeowner."
Garland Insulating joins Williams Insulation, a Masco company, as a premier GreenFiber contractor in the Houston market. Garland has been serving the Dallas-Fort Worth area’s new home and light commercial construction industries since 1948 and has recently opened a Houston branch in order to support growth and market development for GreenFiber. Both Garland and Williams are full-service insulation contractors focused on products and services that enhance thermal performance, ensuring high performance building envelopes.
"We’re very proud to offer the GreenFiber product and feel it is a key factor in the ongoing growth of our business," said Dale Cox, sales manager for Garland Insulating. "GreenFiber is an outstanding company and is able to meet all of our needs from both a product and service standpoint."
GreenFiber was formed in 2000 as a 50/50 joint venture between Louisiana-Pacific Corporation (NYSE: LPX) and Casella Waste Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: CWST), and the merging of their respective companies, Greenstone and U.S. Fiber. In addition to its Charlotte, N.C. corporate headquarters and separate state-of-the-art research and development facility, U.S. GreenFiber operates manufacturing facilities in nine U.S. locations. Its product offering, GreenFiber Cocoon Insulation, is distributed nationwide through three primary channels: contractor, manufactured housing and retail. For more informat
