GreenFiber and GreenFiber Cocoon Insulation bet on a sure thing with the EEBA’s "Houses that Work" Las Vegas Seminar
People gamble on a lot of things, but one should never gamble on the construction of a home – or the environment. Our homes protect us; however, the construction and operation of these homes create an environmental impact. Today, there is a growing public concern for reducing damage to our environment and dependence on fossil fuels. In response to these concerns, GreenFiber will join three building industry leaders in hosting the Energy & Environmental Building Association’s (EEBA) "Houses that Work" seminar on August 18th in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The EEBA works in partnership with the Department of Energy’s "Building America" program to promote awareness and education in developing energy efficient, environmentally friendly homes. GreenFiber will bring in Mark LaLiberte, an EEBA certified trainer, as the main speaker. LaLiberte’s expertise is energy efficient construction practices and a systems approach to building, including airtight construction, indoor air quality and improving building durability.
As the environmental impact of buildings becomes more apparent, GreenFiber’s GreenFiber Cocoon Insulation responds by reducing landfill waste – each bag contains the equivalent of 46 Sunday newspapers – and consuming little energy to produce. The product requires less energy to manufacture than mineral fibers such as fiberglass and consists of 85% recycled content. GreenFiber helps reduce the damage to our environment.
Established in 2000, GreenFiber LLC is a quality-conscious provider of GreenFiber Cocoon Insulation, fire and sound products. GreenFiber is sold through major home centers, building supply retailers and lumberyards in the US and Canada to the do-it-yourself and contractor customer. GreenFiber’s products are also sold through a national sales force to residential and commercial contractors as well as to the manufactured housing industry. The company, headquartered in Charlotte, NC, is a 50/50 joint venture of Louisiana-Pacific (NYSE:LPX) and Casella Waste Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CWST). GreenFiber has the capacity to turn what has previously been an environmentally-friendly "specialty" product into a major competitor in the building products industry.
